Trace the medicine to the pharmacy’s registered name
The website taking payment may not be the place making or sending the product.
BEFORE PAYMENT
Ask for the pharmacy in writing
- What is the pharmacy’s full registered name?
- What state is it in?
- Will it compound or dispense the product?
- Who can answer a pharmacy question?
Search the registered name, not the marketing name.

An out-of-state pharmacy still needs a Texas licence
As of September 2026, a pharmacy outside Texas generally needed a Texas Board licence before mailing prescription medicine to a Texas patient. Texas called this a nonresident pharmacy licence.
Pharmacies outside Texas that mixed germ-free (sterile) medicines to order, injections included, needed a particular Texas licence, Class E-S, as of September 2026. It had to pass an inspection before getting that licence.
If a pharmacy in another state will mail you an injection, ask whether it holds a Texas Class E-S licence.
WHEN IT ARRIVES
Match the package to the answer
Compare the pharmacy name, product name and form with what you were told. If the pharmacy is different, pause and ask why.
By September 2026, FDA had come across labels crediting a pharmacy that was not real, or one that had never made the medicine inside.
